Today is Allison's First birthday. Since we got home, I've been doing well with the wait and am thankful to know that she is being cared for well and is healthy and loved. But even in the early hours this morning, I can tell that this is going to be a hard day.
How I wish she were home with us so we could celebrate the way we celebrated Megan and Emily's first birthdays. We'll have birthday cake this afternoon in her honor, but it just won't be the same. But it will make each coming birthday all the more special. I love you Allison, and can't wait until we can travel back to Ethiopia to bring you home.
Happy Birthday Allison! I say celebrate it after she comes home.
