It is another beautiful day in Addis. This morning we went to visit the Holy Trinity Church and museum. Ethiopia is full of such history and culture. The cathederal was huge with beautiful stained glass. Though I do like our relaxed, relational Christianity in the states, the glory of the cathedral reminded me of the reverance to our almightly God and how great and powerful He really is. He truely is awesome, and that was reflected in the cathedral today.
We are also about to have our second visit with Allison. Yay! What a great trip this is. We are also very happy that some of the other American families are starting to arrive. We have been in a hotel with only French families so far, and it was starting to get a little lonely, though everyone in Ethiopia is wonderful.
Also, we got our phone issues worked out, and were able to connect with my parents and Megan and Emily. Though it's a bit pricy, it's amazing that we can call them from the other side of the world. We are also blessed to have this internet cafe just a few minutes walk from the hotel.

ReplyDeleteHave you tried Skype? If you have a webcam on your laptop and internet connection, it might be the best way to communicate with your folks and girls. My brother talked to his sons in Russia and Taiwan via Skype. Except for the internet charges, it's totally free!

I hope this works. The girls loved talking to you this morning. It was so fun hearing Allison making so much happy noise. We really could hear you. The best connection is from your house to the hotel. I was happy that Emily talked as much as she did. She was not feeling well this morning but went to school, I talked with her teacher giving her a heads up to just call me if Emily wants to come home. It is noon and I haven't gotten a call. Text me when you want us to call again. Love you both!
ReplyDeleteI second, AZDonna! Skype is the best. You can use skype even if you don't have a webcam (that is a bonus letting you see who you are talking to). We loaded jason's skype account with credits (buy them) and used his iphone to talk to the kids and his parents (on their home phone) while we were in Thailand.
ReplyDeleteIt is easy to use and a lot cheaper than some other options. We have found it to be very reliable as well.
